GC Host Role Description

ROLE DESCRIPTION: LEx GlobalCircle Host
The LEx GlobalCircle Host is a LEx member prepared to leverage their senior-level subjectmatter-expertise
to manage the growth and development of a dedicated sub-community within
LEx that has the capacity to materially impact leadership practices, narratives and cultures
within their sphere-of-impact.
Responsibilities:
Working with, and in support of, the LEx GlobalCircle’s Thought-Leader-in-Residence, the Host
is responsible for the growth, development and successful operations of their LEx GlobalCircle
(GC). That is, supported by a volunteer Co-Host and Circle Animator (collectively with the Host,
the Secretariat), the Host is responsible, on a best effort basis to:
1. Be an exemplar of, and be committed to, the Vision, Mission, Core Values, First
Principles and Membership Pledge of The Leaders Expedition
2. Be a subject matter expert in their sphere-of-impact
3. Serve as an active advocate and ambassador for Leaders Expedition
4. Enhance Leaders Expedition’s public image
5. Leverage their connections, networks, and resources to develop collective action to
achieve The Leaders Expedition’s objectives in general, and in their sphere-of-impact
specifically
6. Direct and manage the promotion of membership growth in their GC, in turn driving
overall LEx membership
a. Leveraging the TLiR brand to drive member-get-member email, online and social
media programs and other such programs that drive membership growth
7. Direct and manage the development of GC programs that will engage members,
promote membership growth and further the objectives of their GC
8. Direct and manage the development of the Missions that will be the instruments of
impact in their GC
9. Be an active participant in, and contributor to, the online LEx GC Host Circle,
Term
Hosts serve for a two-year term. Either party may terminate the arrangement with 10 days
written notice.

Reporting
The Host reports to the Executive Director.
Compensation
The Host position is voluntary.
In time, as demand on the Host’s time grows, it is the intent that an annual honorarium will be
paid.
Pre-approved travel, entertainment and out-of-pocket as are reasonably incurred will be
reimbursed.
Time Commitment
Participation is on a best effort basis. Initial liaison with the secretariat for the start-up of the
GC is expected to require approximately five hours per month. Thereafter it is projected to be a
5-10 hour per month commitment when the GC is fully functional. Does not include time
and/or travel that is agreed to be necessary.
