Respiratory swabs for PCRSamples types:• Plain dry nasopharyngeal swabs (gel/agar swabs cannot be tested)• Tissue (not fixed)• BAL fluid (>5ml)Up to 5 samples of the same type can be pooled.Samples should be received at the lab within 24 hours of collection; chilled transport preferred.If samples are collected on a Friday they should be frozen at the practice over the weekend and sent to us on Monday with freezerpacks to ensure they remain frozen. Do not send samples over the weekend as they will not be able to be stored correctly once theyarrive.Due to the multiple PCRs required, there is a test limit of a maximum 10 samples at a time therefore advance notice of multiplesamples being sent will help us provide the best possible service.DISCLAIMER - All standard testing days subject to change without prior notice.
