The Design Unit 1 foresaw to operate inan area of the Turinese context: StreetPlava to Mirafiori. The approach to beused has been that to select anarchitecture from a list of names chosenby the Professor of the course and "tooperate as the study would operate in thearea." Our group chose Ensamble Studio.Departing from this we have imaginedthe pre-existing buildings of Street Plavaas artifacts to dismantle andre-assemble, according to the designnecessities: "Re-ensambling StreetPlava" was the final title of the projectand the philosophy that we followed upto the end.The operation to dismantle parts ofbuilding and to reassemble them onothers has mostly allowed us ofre-densify a part of project area and toleave another part to the naturalenvironment, increasing the greenspaces avaiable to the inhabitants of thearea.On a design level we decided toleave the ground floor free so that thecomplex of buildings was completelypermeable and favoured the pedestrianmobility in it.
