Oso Lake Scout Camp
Located in Rancho Santa Margarita, on the border of Mission Viejo, Oso Lake Scout
Camp is easily accessible. The camp features a 100-acre lake, 15 acres of land, and is
surrounded by O’Neil Regional Park. The Oso Reservoir is the perfect venue for Scouts
to enjoy catch-and-release fishing, rowing, and canoeing. The facilities feature an
archery range, BB gun range, nature center with native garden, a large camping area,
a picnic pavilion, and an amphitheater. Proximity to the park provides ample hiking
and orienteering opportunities and the campsite areas are perfect for first-time
campers to hone their skills.

I can still remember the feeling of joy catching my first fish. And as I take kids
fishing today, I see the excitement in their eyes, when they see the rod bend
and feel the fish pull for the first time. The smiles are worth every moment
spent untangling lines rebaiting hooks and the ‘ones that got away.’ The most
important thing is that the kids have fun and catch fish!
