Abbey eyes
Heart of
Oak return
THOMAS ABBEY
has set sights on a
sensational return to
his former club,
Hearts of Oak, in the
on-going transfer window after a
two-year break.
Abbey, who joined the Phobians
from Divisional One side
Windy Professionals, left the club
to sign a two-year deal with
Egyptian club Ismaily SC in 2018.
The 26-year-old was a key cog
of the Hearts team as he scored
an incredible 13 goals in 28 appearances
for the club during the
2017/18 season.
Abbey, who is without a club,
has expressed his readiness to
play for Hearts ahead of the second
round of the 2019/20 Ghana
Premier League.
"I am a free agent now and
ready to sign for Hearts of Oak
only if they give me good offer.
Why not, football is my job," he
told Angel TV.

Douglas Nkrumah
set for Great
Olympics move
EX-KUMASI ASANTE Kotoko
and Hearts of Oak midfielder
Douglas Nkrumah is set
to join Premier League outfit
Accra Great Olympics for the
rest of the Ghana Premier
League campaign.
Nkrumah, who enjoyed a
spectacular campaign on the
local terrain, is on the verge of
joining the Dade Boys.
Accra Great
Olympics boosted their
survival hopes in the
ongoing national championship
with the inclusion
of some seasoned
footballers and it is paying
off despite the inconsistent
form.
The Accra-based club
opted for the services of
the experienced midfielder
in the quest to
augment their charges
for the second phase of
the league.
Olympics will have to
beat competition from
fellow premier league outfit
Techiman Eleven Wonders and
King Faisal FC for the services
of the versatile midfielder.
Douglas Nkrumah is expected
to touch down in Accra
by the close of the week to finalize
the sensational move
ahead of the resumption of the
league.

I can lead Black Stars attack
• Says Yahaya Mohammed
ADUANA STARS' goal
poacher, Yahaya Mohammed,
has indicated that he will be able
to lead the attack for the Black
Stars when the time comes.
The former Black Stars B attacker
has been in fine
shape for the Dormaabased
club since the
2019/2020 Ghana Premier
League season commenced
and is already
one of the few players
tipped to win the golden
boot award.
Earlier this month he
was named as part of a
23-man squad for Ghana
that would have played
against Sudan in the qualifiers
to the 2021 Africa
Cup of Nations
(AFCON) tournament.
Unfortunately, his
dream of wearing the national
colours again will
have to wait after CAF
announced a couple of
weeks ago that it was
postponing the qualifiers
due to the coronavirus
pandemic in the region.
In an interview with
Asempa FM on Tuesday,
Yahaya Mohammed was asked
whether he can lead the lines for
the Black Stars team.
He replied, “Yes, I can do it
and even do more. As I said
when the time comes and I have

the strength, trust me I will deliver”.
The striker currently has 11
goals after making 15 appearances
for Aduana Stars. He is
not giving up on making a name
for himself in the national team
and has stressed that he will
continue working hard.
