Therefore we will notfear, though the earth give way and themountains fall into the heart of the sea …” (Psalm46:1, 2). Fear is the opposite of faith, so let us notbe anxious, but believing.There are always conditions to the promisesof God. Some of the conditions contained inPsalm 91 are: “If you make the Most High yourdw e l l i n g ”; “Because he loves me, says the Lord”and “for he acknowledges my name”.This calls for personal introspection.I would like to encourage you to read throughthe Psalm again, taking cognisance especially ofthe promises it contains.We need not fear the deadly pestilence thatstalks in the darkness is perhaps the mostapplicable to our present day situation.Daily statistics reveal the spread of the virus,but the Lord says, “A thousand may fall at yourside, ten thousand at your right hand, but it willnot come near you.”Do your best … the Lord will do the rest!Quotations from New International Version.
