Bill's Yacht Basin is 70 Years Old

In the 1950’s, Miller’s Island was a favorite destination for

Baltimore’s fashionable citizens to take a break from city life

and play on the Chesapeake. One of the most popular

activities was to rent a rowboat from "Mr. Bill"! Each of his

boats were hand-made, wooden works of art designed and

built by Mr. Bill. While the rowboat rentals are gone, some of

Bill Poleski’s beautiful wooden boats are preserved around

Row Boat Willie’s Dock Bar! Mr. Bill is no longer around, but

Row Boat Willie’s and Bill’s Yacht Basin are still a favorite on

ever popular Miller’s Island. The facility is currently owned

and managed by his sons, Mike and Rob Poleski, who hope to

keep it in the family for another 70 years. For more

New Marine Store at Parkside Marina

First Captains Boating Services has expanded its business and

moved to Parkside Marina. First Captains provides

maintenance and repair services on site and is continuing its

mobile service. A small marina store stocked with boating

supplies, maintenance items and parts is located in the lower

half of the main building, just under Parkside’s office.
