boasts of a 1.17 hp/kg powerto-weight<br />

Claudio Domenicali says the<br />
Streetfighter V4 is 25% more<br />
powerful than its closest<br />
competitor.<br />
At the heart of the<br />
Streetfigher is a 208hp 1,103cc<br />
Desmosedici Stradale V4<br />
engine derived from the Ducati<br />
MotoGP powerplant. With an<br />
impressive dry weight of only<br />
178kg, the new model has<br />
a power-to-weight ratio of<br />
1.17hp/kg, pushing out a<br />
mamouth 208hp as standard.<br />
This number is increased<br />
further with the race use only<br />
titanium Akrapovic exhaust that<br />
boosts power to 216 hp while<br />
losing 4 kg in the process.<br />
The power delivery in the<br />
Streetfighter V4 is notably<br />
different from the Panigale V4<br />
with 14% more torque sent to<br />
the rear wheel at 100 km/h.<br />
Compared to the previous<br />
model Streetfighter, the<br />
Streetfighter 1098, torque takes<br />
31% bump at 100 km/h. This is<br />
achieved not with making any<br />
modifications to the engine<br />
but by simply changing out<br />
sprockets for a bigger plate at<br />
the rear wheel and a smaller<br />
cog at the gearbox while fuel is<br />
carried in a 16-litre tank<br />
Offered in two variants—the<br />
base Streetfighter V4 and the<br />
Streetfighter V4 S are the latest<br />
jewels of the Ducati line which<br />
will be available in SA beginning<br />
