Performing Arts and Music
Preforming arts thrive in Port Orchard and live
theater productions are regular attractions
offered at the Western Washington Center
for the Arts. The South Kitsap High School
is also well known for their excellent drama
program productions, as well as their music
program. Each summer residents and visitors
swarm to the Waterfront Marina Park in
downtown Port Orchard for the free Concerts
by the Bay series. Many local pubs and
eateries also offer seasonal
live music for a distraction
from the world.
Art Galleries, Antiques,
and Museums
oh my…
Many artists call Port
Orchard and rural South
Kitsap home. The Sidney
Art Gallery & Museum is a
well-established venue for
artists, as well as quilters.
The 100+ year old Gallery
building which displays
the works of northwest artists is the only
designated National and State historic site in
Port Orchard. The Gallery’s museum as well
as the nearby Log Cabin Museum features
vignettes of early South Kitsap life and of the
“Orchard” family. Several nationally known
authors including Debbie Macomber, radio
personality and author Delilah Rene and
Gregg Olsen call South Kitsap their home.
The greater Port Orchard area is also well
known for its antique and vintage collectibles
stores, as well as several commercial art
