Advantages of steel decking: Steel decking acts as permanent or ‘lost’ shuttering for suspended in situ concrete floor or roof slabs in new or refurbished buildings. On most projects, it will act as all, or part, of the tensile bottom reinforcement for the concrete slabs, hence the term ‘composite’. The use of steel decking is especially suitable for fast construction methods. Quick to install, simple, and an ideal complement to steel framed structures make steel decking ideal for both high and low rise buildings.
