Wearealforcedtohelpourfamiliestomanagingour
resourcesduringthisworld-widepandemic.Isubmitthat
goodadvicecanoftenbefoundintheproverbswefind
amusingandsometimesforget.Hereareafew alongwith
myinterpretation.Sharethem withthefamily.

insurancepolicy.Establishasavingsgoalandatimeframeinwhichyouwouldliketoreach
yourgoal. ContractwithyourGoldenHarvestSavingsPlanprovidertomakeregular
depositsofasetamount.Answeronesimplemedicalquestiontodetermineyoureligibility
forcoverage.(Yourfinancialadvisorwilguideyouonthis.)
Benefits&SpecialFeatures:
TheGoldenHarvestSavingsPlanisdesignedforyourfinancialsuccessandprotection,
andyourmonthlydepositsguaranteetheachievementofyoursavingsgoals.Intheevent
youpassawayorbecometotalyandpermanentlydisabled,yourorganizationwilpaythe

TheGoldenHarvestSavingsPlanCont’d
InsuranceAvailableatNoDirectCost:
Alpremiumswilbe paid to CUNA Caribbean Insurance JamaicaLimited byyour
organization.Ifyoudiscontinuethesavingscontract,alaccumulatedpremiumspaidbyyour
organizationonyourbehalfmaybedeductedfrom yourGoldenHarvestSavingsPlan
account.
WhenisCoverageEfective?
Assoonasyousignthesavingscontractwiththeorganizationandpayyourfirstdeposit,
theinsurancecoveragebecomesefective.
TerminationofCoverage
Thisinsurancecoveragewilbeterminatedwhen:
Youceasetobeamemberoftheorganization.Youhavenotmadeadepositformore
than60days.Youwithdraw from thisprogramme.Uponthedateofmaturityorwhenyou
havereceivedthematurityvalueofthesavingsplan.Youreachage70.Theorganizationor
CUNACaribbeanInsuranceJamaicaLimitedterminatesthegroupcontract.Yourbenefitis
paid.
PreexistingConditionsClause:
Thisinsurancewilnotpaydeathortotalandpermanentdisabilitybenefitsduetoan
ilnessorinjuryforwhichyoureceivedmedicaladvice,consultationortreatmentwithinsix
(6)monthspriortotheefectivedateofthecertificate.Theper-existingconditionlimitation
wilnotapplyifyourdeathortotalandpermanentdisabilitybeginssix(6)monthsormore
aftertheefectivedateofthecertificate.
Exclusions:
Thisinsurancewilnotpaybenefitsfordeathortotalandpermanentdisabilitycausedby
thefolowing:
Ifyouengageincriminalactivities.Ifyoubecometotalyandpermanentlydisabledorpass

1.Before working atIECCU,whatwasthe mostunusualor
interestingjobyouhaveeverhad?
ANS:MostpersonsareusualysurprisedwhenImentionthis,
butSummerof2010,IventuredoftoSitkainAlaskaandworked
ataseafoodprocessingplant.Thiswasastanding12-hourwork
shift,andIdidthisforaboutthreemonths.Iworkedinthefish
housesection,whichwasaveryfast-pacedenvironment.Iworked
onboththegutingandpanningline. Overal,itwasagreat
experience,anditmademeappreciatethehardworkthatgoes
intowhatisdeemedasnon-traditionaljobs.
2.Whatdoyoulikemostaboutyourjob?
ANS:No two members are alike,so the interaction and
customerengagementprocessare verymuch intriguing,asit
alowsmetotailormymodeofdeliverytofittheuniquenessof
eachsituation/member.Mostimportantly,it’sthesatisfactionof
deliveringexceptionalcustomerservice,especialywhenyouhave
rectifiedsomeone’sfrustrationofcomplicationsintoasighofrelief
andappreciation.
3.Whatdoesatypicaldaylooklikeforyou?
ANS:MydayhastobeginwithTEA,Yes,tealol.Ithassuchacalmingefect!Usualy,Ilike
whenal‘myducksareinarow,’Iwritedowntheorderofthedayregardingnon-interactive
duties(postings,etc.).Thenitwouldflow intoassistingmemberswithtransactions(loans,
withdrawal,queries,etc.);theseareusualybywalk-inorelectronicalysubmited.
4.Whatwouldpeopleneverguessyoudoinyourrole
ANS:Myroleextendsbeyondthatofa“SnrMemberServiceRepresentative”tolending
anearandprovidingsoundandcompassionateadviceinothernon-financialareastoboth
membersandcoleagues.Youbecometheempathizer,advisor,counselor,etc.Youwear
manyhatswhenyouareexposedtodiversesituationsthatyouhavetoadjustaccordinglyor
simplyjustmultitaskbetweenthediferentroles.
5.Whatdoyouliketodoinyoursparetime?
ANS:Leisuretimeisvital!Relaxationisabigthingforme,soanyactivitiesoranywhere
thatpromotesthistypeofenergy(beach,etc.).Also,Iam aFOODIE,sotryingnew spots
(restaurants)withfriends(inoroutoftown)andreading.
