Welcome toBAYLHAM & BARHAM CARE CENTRESNestled in the rolling Suffolkcountryside, Optima Healthcare’sBaylham and Barham CareCentres were developed with theneeds of residents in mind.Both centres can provide singleand multiple day care, respite,medium-term and long-termresidential/ Nursing care.Though many of our residentsare elderly, we can also providesupport for younger adults withacquired brain injuries andreablement services, often neededfollowing a major health event orhospital stay.BAYLHAMCARECENTREPurpose-built, itcommands spectacular views overthe Gipping Valley, with a widerange of native wildlife on show.With 55 rooms, including somesuited to couples, residents canenjoy a number of communal andquieter spaces.Baylham Centre also has anaward-winning Town Green at itscentre and a specialist dementiacare wing.Physiotherapy and occupationaltherapy are available at bothcentres.
BARHAM CARE CENTREBarham Care Centre is smaller thanBaylham, but offers the same high levelsof care and views of the surroundingcountryside.The home is located on the edge ofBarham Village, with shops and amenitiesjust a short distance away. Residents canvisit the village via a network of smoothfootpaths. It also has a number of secludedcourtyards for those who enjoy the outdoors.MAKING A NEW HOMEWe seek to provide a ‘home awayfrom home’ for all of our residents. Wework closely with the person and theirfamilies to make sure everyone hasa care plan that suits their individualpersonality and routine. Rooms aredecorated to suit the new resident’staste and they can bring their ownfurniture and decorations.MAINTAINING INDEPENDENCEOur ethos is to focus on what peoplecan do, rather than their limitations.Both homes are equipped to allowas much independence as possible,regardless of a person’s individualcare needs. Our staff are there tosupport people to ‘do what they wantto do’.PART OF A COMMUNITYIsolation can be difficult whensomeone has to leave their own home.Family and friends can visit anytimeand we have full-time residents’activities coordinators at each centre.We offer a range of daily activitiesand day trips for residents to takepart in.QUALITY OF LIFE ANDWELLBEINGMental health and happiness is justas important as physical wellbeing.To support this, both centres offercomplementary therapies includingmassage, reflexology, manicure andhairdressing.
