Stay Connected in Our Rapidly Changing Legal
Environment by Joining a Committee
It’s easy and free!
The BAEC has many Committees, some of which focus on specific practice areas, others of which focus on program,
practice management and policy matters, such as the Diversity and Inclusion Committee, Solo Practice Committee and
the Human Rights Committee. A complete list of our Committees can be found at eriebar.org/Committees. You can join
a committee of your choice by emailing the BAEC at dortega@eriebar.org and stating your interest. We welcome new
members to our committees.
When you join a committee, we hope you will attend their meetings, many of which are monthly. A calendar of meetings
can be found on the BAEC website. By attending meetings and joining a committee, you will get timely legal updates and
access to a variety of speakers, with unique insights into pressing issues facing the local legal community. When something
breaks in your practice area, the committee forum is an excellent way to ensure you have the latest insights and connections
that you need to service you clients. Our meetings are presently virtual making it easy and efficient to attend while
balancing a rigorous schedule.
Your membership dues covers the full cost of your participation in Committees. So, it is free and easy. Join today!

Say Yes! Buffalo Seeking Interns
The Bar Association of Erie County is committed to the Diversity & Inclusion Committee’s
diversity pipeline initiatives - even in these uncertain times that we are living in. Last
summer, we teamed up with Say Yes! to pair undergraduate students and law firms/legal
service organizations with paid internships. We continue to push our efforts forward with
programming, but have decided to focus our efforts to the Fall 2020 semester. However, if
you are interested in still having an undergraduate intern this summer, we can make that
happen too as Say Yes! is still accepting internship applications. If you are unable to accept
an intern at this time, but you would like to support these diversity pipeline initiatives,
you can also make individual contributions to sponsor internships. Please contact Jennifer
