job too complex
for me
Former Super Falcons top
striker, Perpetua Nkwocha
has ruled herself out of the
national women team job, saying
the job is too complex.
The Super Falcons remain
without a coach, following the
resignation of Swede Thomas
Dennerby. The Nigeria Football
Federation has received more than
a dozen applications including
those of former Nigerian women
internationals for the job.
Nkwocha who was an assistant to
coach Florence Omagbemi when
the team won the 2018 African
Women Cup of Nations in
Cameroon urged the NFF that
seem not to be in a hurry to fill the
vacant position, to hire a
competent coach with a long term
deal.
“Coaching national teams is
different from coaching club sides.
Managing national teams is more
complex and requires greater
experience.
“I’m currently coaching a club
side in Sweden and not ready to
handle a national team for now”,
the ex-international told BCOS
sports.

exhibition bout
postponed
The eight-round exhibition
bout between legendary
heavyweight boxer Mike
Tyson and Roy Jones Jr has
been postponed. ‘Iron Mike’
was set to end his 15-year
retirement from the sport on
September 12. The 54-yearold
will now have to wait a
little longer to get back in the
ring after it was announced
his fight against Jones Jr. has
been pushed back until
November 28.
According to sources who
spoke to The Ring the highly
anticipated bout will still go
ahead at a crowdless Dignity
Health Park in Carson,
California. The fight will be
broadcast on pay-per-view
and via social media app
Triller who will also produce
a 10-part docu-series ahead

of a committee tasked
with the restoration of the
National Stadium Lagos.
The Ministerial Committee will
implement the recommendations
of the Task Force earlier set up
June 9 2020. It was inaugurated
by the Sports Minister Sunday

Committee membership drawn
from the Sports Ministry, Private
Sector, Stakeholders and the
Security services has eight
weeks to get the job done.

committee will work assiduously

The European Cup has alluded
Silva in his ten years spent at the
