North American Chapter Group<br />
(NACG) <strong>2011</strong><br />
From 24 th – 26 th June <strong>2011</strong>, alumni from across<br />
North America gathered in Montreal for the<br />
NACG Annual Meeting. The meeting focused on<br />
the theme of Interfaith Dialogue: Challenges, Skills<br />
and Strategies and featured sessions on the concepts<br />
and models of interfaith dialogue as well as the<br />
ethical considerations involved. It included<br />
presentations by alumni on their own work related<br />
to interfaith dialogue and a panel discussion on<br />
the differences between “interfaith” and “intrafaith”<br />
dialogue in Muslim, Christian and Jewish<br />
communities. Speakers at the meeting included<br />
Professor Patrice Brodeur, (Canada Research<br />
Chair on Islam, Pluralism and Globalization at<br />
European Chapter Group (ECG) <strong>2011</strong><br />
The European Chapter Group of the <strong>IIS</strong> <strong>Alumni</strong><br />
Association met for its annual meeting in Paris,<br />
France, in May <strong>2011</strong>. The theme selected by the<br />
Chapter Group for its meeting was Literature and<br />
Art: Expressions and Impact, which explored how art<br />
and literature can serve as an important channel to<br />
a deeper understanding of societies. The meeting<br />

Hamilton (General Secretary of the Canadian<br />

Studies at the New School), and Dr Barry Levy<br />
(Former Dean of Religious Studies, McGill<br />
University).
