POST DISASTER RECONSTRUCTION, KESENNUMA,JAPAN.

Terraced landscape sets out to bring alternative perspective in dealing

with the sea wall strategy that has been proposed and partially

constructed after the Great east earthquake 2011 in Japan.

the project is located in kensennuma, one of the cities that was severely

destroyed by the earthquake and tsunami. Through site visiting and

investigation, the potential of the project lies on the existing elevated

terrain along the Naiwan Bay area, the linear open space is consisted

in lower terrace and upper terrace. Through bring the traditional

Japanese pattern to design, the project is not only aimed to connect

the lower ground to the high above terrace but also bringing the culture

uniqueness into the site, and the open accessibility can also be used as

a evacuation route for disaster prevention.
