Scientists are still exploring theSARS-CoV-2 survival and transmissionfrom air and water-borne channels andits interactions with other environmentalfactors, surfaces and chemicals. The roleof particulate matter is very important tounderstand the process of coronavirustransmission and survival. Scientists fromCSIR-NEERI, Nagpur have explored thesurvival of SARS-CoV-2 in air and water andits transmission though both the mediums.They found an appreciable role of particulatematter, its chemical constituents and surfacecharacteristics in transmission of the SARS-CoV-2. The researchers also suggestedpossible gaps in the understanding ofsurvival and transmission mechanism forfurther research.
