Brown Grabs Ninth Bowman Gray Stadium Title<br />

Winston -Salem, NC (August 18, 2012) – Tim Brown clinched his<br />

record-breaking championship at the Bowman Gray Stadium in<br />

Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Saturday. Brown’s consistent<br />

performance this season gave him a respectable lead heading<br />

into the event. The Rural Hall native needed to only finish in the<br />

top 12 to clinch the title, and he finished ninth. Brown shattered<br />

legend Ralph Brinkley’s record for most Modified championships<br />

in the 64-year history at the stadium by taking his ninth title.<br />

ARCA Racing Series<br />

Frank Kimmel Drives to Eighth Career Win on Springfield<br />

Dirt SPRINGFIELD, IL (August 19, 2012) - Frank Kimmel made<br />

another step in his ongoing quest for a 10th ARCA championship<br />

on Sunday, leading 51 laps in the Allen Crowe 100 at the Illinois<br />

State Fairgrounds to earn his sixth consecutive top-five, but more<br />

importantly, his 76th career win and eighth on the Springfield<br />

dirt. Kimmel’s <strong>Eibach</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> equipped No. 44 took command<br />

on Lap 87 and led the final 14 laps to take his second win in 24<br />

days. The nine-time ARCA champion drew to within 15 points of<br />

the series lead<br />

Dungey Crowned 2012 450 Motocross Champion at<br />

Unadilla; Musquin Claims First Overall Win on US Soil NEW<br />

BERLIN, NY (August 19, 2012) – Red Bull KTM Factory rider<br />

Ryan Dungey made history for KTM as he went 1-1 at Unadilla<br />

Raceway to take the overall victory and the crown as the 2012<br />

Lucas Oil Pro 450 Motocross Champion. Dungey started fifth in<br />

the first moto and stopped hearts in the pits when he crashed in<br />

the first lap that dropped him back to eleventh place. In typical<br />

Dungey style he was back on his KTM 450 SX-F in an instant<br />

and began to pick off riders to put himself in the lead when the<br />

two-lap board went out. When the checkered flag flew, Dungey<br />

crossed the finish line to take the first moto victory. In the<br />

second moto, Dungey launched out of the gate in fourth at the<br />

first turn and was in third at the fourth corner. Moments later he<br />

had assumed the lead and never looked back. He dominated the<br />

remainder of race to claim the overall and his first championship<br />

for the Austrian brand in the U.S.A . To make it a perfect Orange<br />

weekend for the US factory team, French rider Marvin Musquin<br />

claimed his first ever overall 250 win on USA soil with a 2-3<br />

moto result while German teammate Ken Roczen finished third<br />

overall after winning the first moto.<br />

Dominating Performance at Stockton Extends Thorn’s<br />

SRL Lead Stockton, CA (August 21, 2012) – Derek Thorn left no<br />

doubt that he is the driver to beat in the SPEARS SRL Southwest<br />

Tour and in the Sunoco Driven Challenge National points,<br />

extending his lead in both series with another fast-time and the<br />

win in Saturday’s “Performance Electrical 125” at Stockton 99<br />

Speedway. The win on Saturday came after Thorn set the fastest<br />

qualifying time with a 13.506 around the historic quarter-mile<br />

asphalt oval, but he started the race sixth after the invert. It<br />

didn’t take long for the Lakeport native to steer the <strong>Eibach</strong><br />

<strong>Springs</strong> equipped #43 to the front, taking the lead on lap 30.<br />

Thorn managed to keep a car length or two ahead of the second<br />

place contender while lapping up to fifth place in the 18 car field.<br />

Thorn pulled away on a late restart with 10 to go and took the<br />

win by half a second at the line. Thorn’s win now gives him<br />

four wins and four fast-times in just seven starts this year in the<br />

competitive SRL series. The victory extends his points lead to<br />

39 points heading into their next event in Las Vegas. Thorn has<br />

an average finish of 2.42 and an average qualifying of 1.85 after<br />

seven rounds of the 2012 SRL Southwest Tour.<br />

ASA Midwest Tour<br />

Travis Sauter Takes Third ASAMT Win of the Season<br />

ELKO, MN (August 18, 2012) – Travis Sauter brought home win<br />

number three in the American Speed Association® Midwest Tour<br />

presented by SCAG Power Equipment and Lester Buildings in<br />

the Governor’s Cup 125 at Elko Speedway in Elko, Minnesota.<br />

Utilizing his <strong>Eibach</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> and JRi Shock combination, Sauter<br />

took the top spot with 15 laps to go and never looked back,<br />

capturing both the win and the Hedman Husler Hedders Hard<br />

Charger presented by Tesar Racing Engines and Lefthander<br />

Chassis by improving 12 positions. His previous wins came in<br />

the Howie Lettow Memorial 150 at the Milwaukee Mile and again<br />

in the Colony Brands 100 presented by RaceTeamGear.com at<br />

Madison International Speedway.<br />

UMP DIRTcar Late Models<br />

Bernheisel Scores Late Model Triumph at Selinsgrove<br />

SELINSGROVE, PA (August 18, 2012) – Veteran late model<br />

racer Jim Bernheisel of Lebanon, Pennsylvania scored his first<br />

triumph at Selinsgrove Speedway in the Late Model division’s<br />

25-lap main event. On a lap five restart, original ninth-place<br />

starter Jim Bernheisel rocketed from seventh to fourth. A lap<br />

later, Bernheisel moved into third and set his sights on Shuey<br />

and Trevitz at the front of the pack. Bernheisel passed to second<br />

on the eighth lap and on a lap nine restart, took the lead with<br />

an inside pass in turn one. The <strong>Eibach</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> equipped Lazer<br />

Chassis led the rest of the way and posted a 1.3-second margin<br />

of victory.<br />

United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS)<br />

Johnny Scott Tops Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup<br />

Feature at Nobles County Speedway WORTHINGTON, MN<br />

(August 18, 2012) – Johnny Scott of Las Cruces, NM captured<br />

his first win during the Hunt for the USMTS Casey’s Cup Sunday<br />

evening at the Nobles County Speedway. It was his fourth overall<br />

win of the season and 13th of his USMTS career. From the pole<br />

position, Scott took the lead at the start and never looked back,<br />

leading all 40 laps en route to a $3,000 payday and ending a 32race<br />

dry spell. It was another great night for <strong>Eibach</strong> <strong>Springs</strong>, as<br />

Rodney Sanders of Happy, Texas, picked up his second runner-up<br />

finish in as many nights. With eight events in the books, Sanders<br />

leap-frogged over Ryan Gustin to take the series points lead by<br />

14 (825 to 811) thanks to consistency throughout the campaign.<br />

In his 28 starts in the USMTS Casey’s Cup Series this season,<br />

‘The Rocket’ has four wins, 23 top-fives and 27 top-ten finishes.<br />

Edoardo Mortara Clinches Podium for Audi NüRBURG<br />

(August 19, 2012) – Audi started into the second half of the DTM<br />

season with a second place at the Nürburgring. At the event,<br />

Edoardo Mortara and Mike Rockenfeller made up ground to the<br />

overall leader and are now the best-placed Audi racers in the<br />

standings. Mortara started from position two and finished as the<br />

runner-up on the podium, while Rockenfeller took fifth place.<br />

WISSOTA Modifieds<br />

Cain Sweeps the Advantage RV Field at Ogilvie<br />

Raceway OGILVIE, MN (August 11, 2012) - Dave Cain continued<br />

his winning ways in Advantage RV Modified competition at<br />

the Ogilvie Raceway in Ogilvie, Minnesota on Saturday, August<br />

11. Cain’s <strong>Eibach</strong> <strong>Springs</strong> equipped Modified paced the field<br />

to the green flag and led all thirty circuits around the high<br />

banked oval to capture his third tour victory of the season.<br />

Cain’s impressive results have propelled him into the WISSOTA<br />

Modified National standings lead over the Kevin ‘Buzzy’ Adams.<br />

Kramer Tops Modified Field at Eldora Speedway<br />

ROSSBURG, OH (August 11, 2012) – Joey Kramer left the Eldora<br />

Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio with the top spot in points standings<br />

after capturing his fourth victory of the season at the famed<br />

dirt oval. Despite missing a points accruing event earlier this<br />

year, Kramer entered Saturday’s action a mere point behind the<br />

leader. Kramer started in the pole position, but settled in third<br />

through the early circuits of the 18-lap feature. Kramer’s <strong>Eibach</strong><br />

<strong>Springs</strong> adorned Modified worked its way into the lead with<br />

eight to go and held on for the victory. Kramer now leads the<br />

track championship standings by two points.<br />

Best in the Desert Off Road Racing<br />

Lovell Brothers Conquer Vegas to Reno LAS VEGAS, NV<br />

(August 18, 2012) – Over 300 teams took the green flag in the<br />

Best in the Desert Off Road Racing Vegas to Reno event in an<br />

attempt to conquer the treacherous route. Deep in the Ultra 4<br />

class, brothers Brad and Roger Lovell sat in the <strong>Eibach</strong> <strong>Springs</strong><br />

equipped no. 4423 AMSOIL/Torchmate rock racer readying<br />

themselves for the 534 mile journey. The duo overcame<br />

mechanical issues that left the transmission stuck in second gear<br />

with nearly 200 miles to go and a high end ignition miss to reach<br />

the finish line in 13 hours, 11 minutes, 15 seconds. The Lovells<br />

finished 4th in the Ultra 4 class and 69th overall. The determined<br />

effort of the entire team has given Brad Lovell the Ultra 4 Pro<br />

Series points lead going into the last event at Miller Motorsports<br />

Park.<br />
