Michael is the son of two literary artists. His father
Bartolome T. Chua (deceased) is a Francisco Balagtas 2009
Awardee for Chinese Poetry. His mother Rosalinda O.
Chua is a renowned Chinese essayist and short story
writer.
Both are well known in Southeast Asia within the Chinese
literary circles.
