The World’s Best Wine Road ...
France
It all began in 2011 in Provence.
We were already importing Albert Bichot’s fine Burgundy wines
and had experienced the highest type of wines such as, Chablis Grand
Cru “La Moutonne”, the great “Corton-Charlemagne”, the historical
“Clos de Vougeot” and “Clos de Mouches”, but we did not expect that
pink wines from Provence could have the qualities of a top Burgundy wine.
We happened to come across “Garrus” - the best rosé in the world and became the
official and exclusive importer of Château d’Esclans. And if “Garrus” is “Garrus”,
the epitome of rosé, another wine from the same cellar whispers of the beautiful
Provencal summer. It reminds us of the smiling Mediterranean with its endless scents
and glamour that revolutionized not only our portfolio but also the Bulgarian market –
“Whispering Angel” – our absolute bestseller.
What would be the summer without Sauvignon Blanc? Boring. For this reason, we decided
to introduce to our market an authentic Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley, the birthplace
of Sauvignon Blanc. The choice was obvious - Pascal Jolivet - the “rock star” of Sancerre
and one of the pioneers of natural, organic wines in France. To bring a touch of exclusivity to
our portfolio, we added the family owned Champagne House – Billecart-Salmon - the favorite
champagne of French sommeliers. In 2018, the House celebrated its 200th anniversary.
Little by little the map of France began to fill up and we knew that sooner or later we would go to
Bordeaux, France’s most renowned wine region. The first step was Château Les Trois Croix, from
Fronsac, founded by the legendary Patrick Leon. This was followed by the addition of Château
Penin, the mythical and nowadays protected appellation of Saint-Emilion. Both regions of Bordeaux
produce fantastic Merlot wines. From the South-west we went across to the German border in the
North-east. Nestled between two mountains - Black Forest and the Vosges, our next stop was
Alsace. Near the picturesque town of Colmar, two brothers make trully impossible wines. Yes, all
the wines that come out of their winery, Albert Mann, have a special character. Jacky and Maurice
Barthelmé say “We don’t take anything from the wine and we don’t add anything to the wine, we
just watch over it.” Strongly impressed with this philosophy, we added this premium Alsatian
House to our portfolio.
Throughout the selection process we were looking for those French wineries that shared our
company values, namely: personal attention, integrity, clear vision, leadership and transparency
in our relationships. This is important to us because we share these same values with our clients
and partners in Bulgaria.

Italy
The World’s Best Wine Road ...
As we know, wine lists begin with France and continue
with Italy. Naturally, the obvious choice for our next stage of
expansion was an area close to France – Piedmont. Our choice was
“La Scolca”, an historic and legendary winery that was responsible
for creating the first Gavi wines. “La Scolca Black Label” is one of the
most significant Italian wines, found in most exclusive gastronomic venues
worldwide. In 2019, the cellar celebrated its centenary.
For our second addition we continued to head in the same direction – historical
importance and significant values. We went to the opposite end of Piedmont -
Friuli to meet the pioneer of modern Italian white wines - Mario Schiopetto. This led
to the addition of Schiopetto’s sister winery, Volpe Pasini, which is one of the oldest
and culturally influential cellars in the heart of Friuli. And to celebrate our promising
Italian start, we wished for a sparkling Italian wine - Prosecco, obviously. Near Friuli, in
Vald biaddene Stefano Pola - owner of Andreola, makes some of the most delicate and
sophisticated sparkling wines, mostly Prosecco Superiore.
Very close to Valdobiaddene, near Verona, we discovered the magical white wine of Soave
of Graziano Prà and his amazing red wines from Valpolicella, including the finest Amarone.
Historically, Graziano Prà creates one of the most significant wineries of Soave and Valpolicella
and is always in charge of the whole winemaking process in the cellar.
Pausing to catch our breath, we realized that we had amassed an impressive wine portfolio,
a constellation of significant winemakers. Now it was easy, we began to receive proposals for
cooperation on a daily basis. Everyone wants to be part of the team with the best players. Decisively,
we continued to follow our vision to look for wine producers that shared our values and mission. Our
journey took us to Brunello di Montalcino and the “star winery” of Siro Pacenti. Here the wines are
blended with a lot of enthusiasm, inspiration and passion personally by Giancarlo Pacenti. In 2019,
“Brunello di Montalcino Vechie Vigne Siro Pacenti” was awarded “Best Wine of the Year” by the
influential wine critic James Suckling.
Going beyond the mainland, our final destination was Sicily. It’s hard to imagine Sicily without
Firriato or as they like to be known as the “custodians of authentic terroir. “ High quality wines,
working only with local varieties, vineyards located in unreachable places like the volcano of Mount
Etna or the island of Favignana, but also very subtle, inimitable style and Sicilian spirit.
Our Italian adventure continues. We are meticulously considering new regions, ones that are
historically important to Italy and looking forward to writing the next chapter. For us wine is not
just business, wine is culture, history, adventure, opportunity to conquer new horizons and on the
way make new friends.
