was hectic, chaotic,
scary, unstable politics,
COVID019, isolation, economic devastation,
social unrest, climate changes
from fires to hurricanes … exhausting my
senses and challenging my creativity.
My impulse has been to hunt and gather
and try new things. The old ways of
expressing myself — painting and drawing
— didn’t seem adequate so I am
experimenting. Sometimes art results,
but that isn’t the point. Creativity as a
means of survival is key. You have to
survive before you can thrive. Making art
for me has always been both.
