Tarragindi -Playground UpgradeThis unique playground was built basedon plans provided and was in addition toa building extension where we added anew staffroom with a kitchenette and newretaining walls. It also included a bathroomupgrade.The full scope included:• Demolition of the entire play yard &removing all unwanted surface materials,play and shade structures, unwantedgardens and any unwanted soils includingwaste management• Excavation of earth under existingbuilding and level playground• Boundary fence- Remove existingplayscape fence & retaining wall and installnew retaining wall posts and sleepers• Install new drainage behind perimeterretaining wall and backfill• Excavate and drill new footings and piers• Installation of form work placement andconnect reinforcement steel and pourconcrete to inground piers• Plumbing and electrical rough in• Install new drainage points• Install tiered paved entry with plant-aboxesand stepping logs to create newaccess point• Install sand play/cubby structure withmud kitchen, shop counter and decorativewindows• Supply and construct custom log fortincluding slide, stepped log climbing activity,net rope bridge, access ladder,and viewingwindow• Create a hexagonal bench seating areaaround tree• Install a concrete bike track that flows aroundthe play yard including a range of hardwoodtimber and cobble stone tactile inserts forsensory stimulation• Construct a creek bed including a water tappump installed on a deck with sandstoneboulders, log crossings and other naturalexploratory elements• Install wall mounted arts chalk activity panelto allow the children to experience bothvisual and touch sensory experience.• Lay new astroturf thoughout play space• Install two shade sail structures over fort andbike track playspaces• Paint lower exterior buildingPh 1300 363 423 | www.mathiouservices.com.au 12
