Center for Medical Education
For over 45 years, the committees have been the backbone of the SEMCME
organization. SEMCME has come to rely on committee members to help drive
the educational mission and vision of the organization. It is within the
confines of the committee structure ideas are discussed and innovative
medical education is born.
Our Vision is to enhance healthcare in southeast Michigan through
excellence and innovation in medical education.
Our Mission is to train outstanding physicians and inspire excellent
teachers among our member hospitals and institutions.
In 2019, SEMCME had 18 active committees and over 300 volunteer GME
professionals participate in over 100 meetings to plan, produce, and conduct
over 35 GME and CME educational activities for its member hospitals and
institutions. This process of pooling ideas for innovative medical education,
cooperation among member hospitals and universities, and the sharing of
knowledge and experience, achieves educational benefits which no single
institution can obtain alone.
