Letter from the Board Chair & the Executive DirectorDear Colleagues and Friends:It is our pleasure to share with you the 2019 Impact Report for Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas.Our report highlights the work that we are dedicated to and demonstrates the positive impact that wecontinue to provide in the Heart of Texas region.During the past year, we helped 1,873 employers to fill 1,531 job openings and served 7,816 job seekers.Among workforce development boards in the state of Texas, we ranked:· in the state for providing services to employers· in state for helping job seekers earn a college credential· in the state for helping dislocated workers to become employedWe assisted 170 youth to either become employed, enroll in college and earn a college credential. Weprovided child care to 7,060 children and increased the number of Texas Rising Star child care providersby fifty percent.We are also proud to highlight our employers who were recognized at the 23rd Annual Texas WorkforceConference for their commitment and contributions to our region and to the state of Texas. Equally,we are proud to highlight our own achievement of winning two Local Workforce Development Boardawards.We would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors for their continued support and are honoredto partner with chambers of commerce, economic development corporations, post-secondary institutions,independent school districts, and other agencies who help fulfill our mission.We thank the Chief Elected Officials, Board of Directors and Committee members for their visionary leadershipand guidance to advance our vision and mission.
