Gold #17
On February 12,
Betty became
both the first
woman to earn
the Gold Award
and also the oldest
player to
reach the 4,000-
GRP plateau. She
turns 86 on April 16. After learning the game
from her husband, Gil, in 1984, she joined
the ACC in 1986. Never one to simply show
up and play, for many years Betty directed
two clubs (#69 and #198) and two weekend
tournaments (Greater Spokane Open and
Idaho Open). She has been club champion
a dozen times. Her cribbage mentor is Jim
Kesling, and her toughest opponent is De-
Lynn Colvert. Betty has earned her Grand
Master in tournament action and also likes
to play Texas Hold ’Em.
Written and illustrated by
DELYNN COLVERT
this book describes a
time-tested “26-theory”
that has propelled
DeLynn to the ACC’s
first Six Star award!
