P A G E 2 1Center for Nonprofit Advancement(CNA)CNA has demonstrated the need for funders to invest intechnical assistance, especially during these challengingtimes. Nonprofits are struggling with ensuring the safety oftheir clients and employees while maintaining the deliveryof services, replacing successful revenue-generating events,and understanding the complex technology (which has itsdisadvantages as well as its advantages). Moreover, thereare many more complex problems in the currentenvironment.NACNA is adapting to these difficult conditions by offeringinnovative, creative, and effective programs, includingwebinars, which have proven to be successful in fosteringprofessional networking. Nonprofit leaders recognize thevalue of these programs, which feature relevant topicspresented by dynamic and knowledgeable speakers,engaging and challenging participants to be open tonew ideas. Nonprofit professionals are better able to learnand relate to each others' circumstances. Developingrelationships with potential partners might be even moreimportant during these difficult times since collaboratingor merging of services may be the answer for some as theyconsider how to better serve their respective clients.W W W . P A G E 2 2CNA continues to respond to the needs of our nonprofitcommunity by offering successful programs such as theseventh annual Desert Fast Pitch, which took place inNovember 2019 and was attended by almost 300 people atthe UCR Palm Desert Campus. Owing to the pandemic, thisNovember's event has been postponed until 2021 or later,as conditions demand. CNA's long partnership with UCR’sCertificate of Nonprofit Management, a 35-week program,also continues; ten of our CNA members graduated from the2019/2020 version and are consequently better prepared forleadership opportunities in their respective organizations.Obviously, the Coronavirus pandemic will affect thisprogram as well, in ways yet to be determined.
