BE SEEN, BE SAFEAs we continue to exercise closer to home some of uswalk at night or early in the morning when the light isn’tso good, especially when walking our dogs. Our ruralarea does not have lots of streetlights so many of theroutes we walk are in darkness. There has been a fewpeople mention about the importance of making sureyou can be seen when walking, either by yourself or withyour dog. Make sure you can be seen and stay safe.When heading out at dawn, dusk or night, it's important toremember a few simple things that can help to keep both you andyour dog safe.• Consider wearing high visibility clothing soyou can be easily seen by motorists.• Carry a torch as it will help you to be seen.• If there's no pavement, walk against the flowof the traffic and keep your dog on the sidefurthest from the road.• A reflective collar and lead or a high visibilitycoat/flashing collar will also increase yourdog's visibility in the dark.• Take your mobile phone with you and letsomeone know where you're headed.Big THANK YOUsWe still don’t know when we will be able tomeet up for Youth Club. However, we do wantto say a massive thank you to the Bell Pub forgiving us a donation of £311.75 following theirlast “Fish & Chip Night” in the previousLockdown and Veronica and Richard Pryce whohave donated laptops and an ipadto the SYA for our Youth Club touse. Cross Houses & BerringtonFriday 2nd to Sunday 19th April 2021Our intrepid Elves have now transformed into Easter Bunnies!The Easter Bunnies are in the planning stage for an Easter Egg hunt around the village. It will be freeentry and there will be prizes to be won. Stephy Durkan, on behalf of the Eater Bunnies, will havepacks of Easter Egg cut outs for you to colour in and decorate either by yourself or with your family. Allthey ask is that you place these decorated eggs in your window so they can be easily seen by The EggHunters. These eggs need to be in position over the whole 2 weeks of the school holidays (2nd to 18thApril) so all families can join in when they want.More information will be advertised on the Community Facebook Page and in the next edition of ThePump.At the moment they just need to know the houses that would like to participate so they can get a mapdrawn up.
