NOTES FROM THE GARDEN
SPACE STATION
Our regular contributor Matt Biggs is currently away,
meanwhile we talked with our in-house gardening expert
Angela Cave and discussed how we may wish to consider
making the most of our gardens...
Whatever we have been doing, or not doing, over the last year
most of us will have spent quite a lot of time at home. For those of
us with gardens there may have been a reappraisal of how we use
the space we have, and many people will be feeling that the space
they do have in the garden might be up for a re-think. Working
from home may have been temporary for some, others might be re
assessing how they work and wanting to work from home on a more
permanent basis or starting a new venture which needs just that bit
more overflow and storage space.
Enter the garden building. This option is becoming increasingly
popular as it adds space without the need, usually, for planning
permission and it can be achieved relatively quickly too. There are
other perks apart from a shorter commute - why not install a home
cinema so that your office can turn into a place of recreation once
the working day is over, add a bar and have a home pub, add some
gym equipment and get the abs you have always wanted, there are
so many great things about new space! For those just starting a new
business, it can be a workshop, production area, packing space,
even a studio to film those all-important blogs and vlogs - the more
you think about the options the more essential it becomes!
It would be a good idea at this stage, to get in touch with a local
company who can advise on the options, make yourself a mood
board and a list of what you want your space to do, how big you
want it, how it is going to blend into your existing space and the
style of your home - there are many things to consider, but whatever
you decide, the anticipation and realisation of having your own new
space is definitely something to look forward too.
