Fattman announces district S.A.F.E. grantsBOSTON – State SenatorRyan Fattman (R-Sutton)announced that the fire departmentsin the towns herepresents would receivenearly $100,000 total in StudentAwareness of Fire Education(S.A.F.E.) and SeniorS.A.F.E. grants during theFY21 distribution.Twenty-six years ago, theS.A.F.E. program was established,and since then, theaverage annual child firedeaths have been reducedby 78%. Senior SAFE wascreated to offer funds to localfire departments in supportof senior citizen fireprevention training. Seniorsare the most vulnerable ofpopulations at risk of fire relateddeaths.
