Efficiency starts with energy
Renergy from Micronutrients is a blend of organic acids that modifies rumen fermentation by increasing
propionate production. Propionate is a key source of energy for dairy cows. More energy from propionate
in the rumen increases production efficiency, providing nutritionists and producers with options to increase
herd profitability.
How can Renergy help make your operation
more profitable?
By helping cows produce more propionate to fuel energy, Renergy gives you two ways to improve
profitability.
What are rumen modifiers?
Rumen modifiers are feed additives that alter some aspect of rumen fermentation. These alterations
can either change the digestibility of feed components (e.g., protein, carbohydrates, etc.), inhibit or
stimulate specific microbial populations, or enhance production of volatile fatty acids (VFA), which
are a major source of energy for dairy cows.
Option 1: Reformulate to lower feed
costs
Feeding Renergy lets you reduce the amount of
expensive, energy-dense ingredients in the diet
and replace the space with lower-cost ingredients
like forages.
Replace costly, energy-dense ingredients in
the diet:
• Rumen available fats, like tallow
• Rumen inert fats
• Starch sources like corn
Option 2: Add on top to increase milk
production
Add Renergy on top of the existing diet to
increase energy available for milk production.
Add Renergy to the diets for:
• Fresh cows
• High groups
Cows fed Renergy showed increased milk production across lactation stages. 1
