Hoa, served with the 4/60 <strong>Artillery</strong>.<br />

Battery G, 55th <strong>Artillery</strong>, arrived in<br />

Vietnam in February 1967 and left in<br />

July 1971. It was stationed at Chu Lai<br />

and was attached to the 23rd Infantry<br />

Division.<br />

Battery G, 65th <strong>Artillery</strong>, arrived in<br />

Vietnam in October 1966 and departed<br />

in December 1971. It served with the<br />

1/44 <strong>Artillery</strong> at Dong Ha until it was<br />

attached to the 108th <strong>Artillery</strong> Group<br />

in 1968. The battery was sent to Da<br />

Nang as part of XXIV Corps <strong>Artillery</strong><br />

in 1970.<br />

Battery D of the 71st <strong>Artillery</strong> served<br />

two tours in Vietnam. During its first<br />

tour (November 1966 to June 1971) it<br />

was stationed with the 5/2 <strong>Artillery</strong><br />

and later the I1 Field Force Vietnam at<br />

Long Binh. During its second tour<br />

(September 1971 to March 1972) the<br />

battery was attached to XXIV Corps<br />

and stationed at Da Nang. QUAD 60s were often mountea on trucks to Increase tnelr mobtlrty.<br />

HAWK positions resembled sandbagged fortresses. During the monsoon, trenches dug through the fortifications turned into moats.
