The minister spoke at the commissioning of some water projects executed by the Benin Owena River Basin Development Authority, BORBDA, at the Ogbe Secondary School Benin City, and Igo, in the Ovia North East LGA of Edo. Represented by the Assistant Director, Procurement of BORDA, Augustine Chukwuyem, Adamu said the problem of access to safe drinking water could only be solved when the vital role water plays in human life is recognised by all Ḣe said “we must contribute our quota to mitigate the global water crises and reflect on how important it is, that we continue to ensure that someday soon, everyone is able to have access to clean water while conserving the natural resource”. In his welcome address, the Managing Director, BORBDA Engr Saliu Ahmed who was represented by the Executive Director, Engineering Services, Mrs Veronica Olalemi said besides emphasizing the importance of water to daily living, assured of the federal agency’s preparedness to deliver on its core mandate of meeting the water needs of the people for food, agriculture-irrigation, recreation and industrial uses. Delta lawmaker distributes computers, projectors to schools in riverine communities By Chancel Sunday Bschool OMADI—PRIMARY teachers and pupils in riverine communities have lauded the lawmaker representing Patani/ Bomadi Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Nicholas Mutu, over his distribution of hardwares to primary schools in the constituency. Commending the lawmaker, yesterday, headteachers and pupils of the receiving schools noted that the gesture was unprecedented, stressing it would enable them inculcate the requisite knowledge on pupils. However, five schools in Bomadi council area received the items which are Olou Primary School Bomadi, Epekiri Primary School Ogboin-ama, Onoru Primary School Ogriagbene, Awobu Primary School Akugbene and Ogideze Primary School Ogo-Eze. Mrs Comfort Umana, headteacher of Ogideze Primary School, Ogo-Eze, said: “I’m dumbfounded and happy to receive such wonderful gifts to our school. “Just few days ago textbooks and notebooks were brought by Mutu, today he has brought equipment to enable us teach the pupils properly." PDP chieftain seeks continued support for Nwaoboshi IBUSA—IN recognition of a true representation of the people of the Delta North Senatorial District, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and political aide to the member representing Delta North Constituency in the National Assembly, Mr. Philip Elueme, has stressed the need for continued support for Senator Peter Nwaoboshi in his quest to attract more development to the district. Elueme, in a chat with newsmen, stated that the call for the support became necessary, so as to enable Nwaoboshi continue to ventilate outstanding overall developmental sagacity in governance for the development of Anioma communities. The PDP chieftain stated that with prayers, passion and enthusiasm, as one time President-General of Ibusa Community Development Union, ICDU, worldwide, in 2008, he had called for similar support for Nwaoboshi.
