Yamaha Adventure rentals started in 2015.
Their tours, with a major gravel-road content, begin
mostly in the Western Cape and into Namibia, Vic
Falls, as well as numerous East Country tours into
the Eastern & Northern Cape, with no limits based
on the client’s available time. They have transported
bikes to Windhoek, Beit Bridge, Johannesburg,
Durban, Port Elizabeth and more, based on their
client’s needs.
Their clients, usually from abroad, start to make
contact at least a year before their trip and the team
then tailor their requirements to what they consider
to be suitable for their riding style, need as well as
experience. Some hire all the riding Gear, including
GPS, Soft luggage Bags etc. Larger groups, usually
request a tour guide, back up 4x4 type vehicle,
spare bike etc. and share these common costs.
Smaller groups also hire a GPS from Yamaha-Adventures
and, after having planned their tour with
them, a detailed and specific route is downloaded
, steered by information collected over the years.
These routes are designed according to accessibility
at certain times of the year in order to avoid
harsh weather conditions, excessive temperature
and possible erosion after heavy rains.
Yamaha-Adventures’ bikes are fitted with tracking
devices and, although dependent on mobile phone
networks, have proved to be an invaluable support
system when needed ( they are linked to ER24,
providing comfort to unfortunate clients who may
be injured).
The team are busy the whole year round with
shorter term rentals, for local and foreign visitors,
wanting to get out and ride with their friends over
weekends and sometimes during the week, when
the boss is not looking.
Longer term rentals are available for people who
need a commuter for a month or two. These rates
are tailored to suit budgets after careful consideration.

In 1997, Jaco Buys (owner and founder of GS Bike
Traders), bought his first ever BMW GS
motorcycle solely for the purpose of commuting
back and forth between rugby practices and work.
Although qualified with a Masters degree in bio
kinetics, he decided that his passion lay
somewhere else and made the decision to follow
his dream. In 2013, he started buying GS

part when our scoots break. When one of our
2-strokes called it a day a while ago, we went on
