This is a greeting/salutation that Muslims generally exchange between one another. The greeting has a very impactful meaning when broken down and understood from an Islamic perspective. In layman’s terms, when the greeting is given to someone from another, the person giving the greeting is not just saying peace be upon you and the blessings and mercy of the Most High, the person initiating the greeting is also saying I pray to the Most High that you are secure and healthy mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Also that I am concerned for your wellbeing and I genuinely care about your safety and security in this life and in the next. As a side note and to conclude my discussion, the tenants of Islam are not solely and exclusively for Muslims; however, the tenants can be applied and practiced by all whether they be Muslim or not.
