Reflections on Yard Nature

I sit on my front porch listening
to the chirping birds.
The wind blows the clouds
like balls of cotton.
Water puddles fill the street
like a lake after a rain.
I feel water droplets hit my head.
All is calm and quiet,
like a church ready to start.
The wind blows and some leaves drop
signaling a step closer to Fall.
My dad begins to work on the lawnmower
in the garage, making noise and
the chill sends me inside.
