Dean College Announces New<br />
Campus Construction Project<br />
Dean College recently announced<br />
a new campus construction<br />
project that is scheduled for<br />
completion for the start of the<br />
Fall <strong>2021</strong> semester.<br />
“A primary goal of Dean’s<br />
strategic plan is to invest in our<br />
facilities to support the strategic<br />
direction of the College. I am<br />
thrilled that Dean will be making<br />
improvements to align with this<br />
campus-wide vision,” says Dean<br />
College President Dr. Paula M.<br />

The project is the creation of<br />
reimagined athletic space featuring<br />
new and expanded locker<br />
rooms, training areas and significant<br />
interior and exterior<br />
structural improvements to the<br />
College’s Pieri Gymnasium to<br />
support our academic and athletic<br />
initiatives.<br />
The project will feature a new<br />
fitness area for student-athletes<br />
while also improving two existing<br />
fitness locations for use by all<br />
students. In addition, the College<br />

is building a new exercise science<br />
lab; a project made necessary<br />
through the significant expansion<br />
of enrollment for this academic<br />
program.<br />
“This new project is the next<br />
component of Dean’s continued<br />
expansion of our athletic programs<br />
and offers our studentathletes<br />
the best experience<br />
possible,” says Dean College<br />
Director of Athletics, George<br />
Martin. “We look forward to<br />
competing for conference championships<br />
now and in the future<br />
and these<br />
enhancements will be a step in<br />
that direction,” says Martin.<br />
Dean College recently transitioned<br />
to Division III athletics<br />
which has led to a steady increase<br />
in student- athletes and high-level<br />
play in each of the 16 varsity<br />
sports that the College competes<br />
in. After completing a controlled<br />
schedule of games during the<br />
Spring <strong>2021</strong> semester, Dean<br />
looks forward to returning to a<br />
full schedule of play in all sports<br />
for the <strong>2021</strong>-2022 academic year.<br />

enhance all aspects of the student<br />
life experience as we continue to<br />
