Fine Arts enrich
A select g ro u p o f seniors in five classes studied the H um onities,
w hich asks and tries to answ er basic questions and challenges
students to think up th e ir ow n answers.
For the first tim e, speech students gave talks on closed circuit
television. This e n a b le d them to better observe themselves.
Latin I students b a sic a lly le a rn e d g ra m m a r, w h ile Latin II students
read a b o u t C a esar and studied m yth o lo g y. C ice ro 's Letters
and O ra tio n s and O v id 's M eta m o rp o se w e re read by th ird
y e a r students. In G e rm a n classes, students m ade and b ro u g h t
G e rm a n fo o d s such as the pastry, Stollen.
Two new spapers, B onjour and C hez N ous, w hich had records to
go a lo n g w ith them, w e re used to r the first tim e in French classes.
First and second y e a r Spanish students co ncentrated on v o c a b
u la ry and g ra m m a r, w h ile th ird y e a r students d iscovered the
lite ra tu re o f S panish-speaking countries.
