BOARD OF TRUSTEES 2020 – 2021The Town of Palm Beach United Way is a volunteer-led organization that relies on the generosity,time, talent, expertise and passion of hundreds of individuals each year. HOW DONOR DOLLARS LEAD TO CHANGE765FOR OVER 75 YEARSwe have united with individuals,businesses and community partnersto improve lives and createsustainable change right herein Palm Beach County.1243STEP 1: IT STARTS WITH YOUYou want to make a difference in your community.STEP 2: DONATIONSThe Town of Palm Beach United Way harnesses thecollective impact of community donations madethrough individual giving, corporate gifts and employeepayroll deductions.STEP 3: APPLICATIONSLocal nonprofits complete a rigorous application processrequiring information on leadership, collaboration,financials, community need, demographics, goals,program evaluation and outcomes.STEP 4: ALLOCATIONSA diverse committee of community volunteersthoroughly reviews each application and meetswith agency staff and board members. The reviewprocess lasts three months, after which the AllocationCommittee makes funding recommendations.STEP 5: FUNDINGThe Town of Palm Beach United Way Board of Trusteesvotes on the Allocation Committee recommendationsand partner agencies are notified. The funding cycleruns July 1 through June 30 and agencies receivechecks on a monthly basis to ensure compliance withUnited Way standards.STEP 6: REPORTINGWe monitor, measure and report the progress of ourpartners and of our organization as a whole annually todonors, volunteers and the community.STEP 7: IMPACTWith the Town of Palm Beach United Way, you becomepart of a powerful movement to make a lasting impactin Palm Beach County, helping individuals and familiesachieve their full potential.3 | Community Report 2020-2021
