<strong>The</strong> Oxford Free Public Library<br />

and the General Ebenezer<br />

Learned DAR Chapter<br />

of Oxford, along with the National<br />

Society Daughters of the<br />

American Revolution, have<br />

teamed up to commemorate<br />

the 232nd anniversary of the<br />

signing of the United States’<br />

Constitution. During <strong>September</strong><br />

17 – 23 a display about the<br />

constitution with suggested<br />

books to read and bookmarks<br />

are available. Come on in and<br />

see what it’s all about.<br />

of Dudley Cultural Council<br />

(DCC) must be submitted online<br />

at this Massachusetts Cultural<br />

Council (MCC) website:<br />

Applications are available on<br />

line only.<br />

Along with MCC’s requirements<br />

they must also comply<br />

with the DCC’s requirements.<br />

<strong>The</strong> proposal must have a clear,<br />

written commitment of location<br />

for the event and must take<br />

place within the calendar year,<br />

January-December 2022. <strong>The</strong><br />

DCC is stressing to applicants<br />

in the Constitution does it say,<br />

“It’s a free country”? Amendment<br />

1 of the Constitution does<br />

not include the words “freedom<br />

of expression” but over time it<br />

has been ruled to include limits<br />

to the freedom of speech/<br />

press/assembly for defamation,<br />

perjury, contempt of court, hate<br />

speech, size of public demonstrations,<br />

trade secrets, noise<br />

pollution, classified information<br />

and treason. Study the Constitution,<br />

know your rights, and<br />

know what it says and does not<br />

say.<br />

Dudley Cultural Council<br />

accepting grant requests<br />

the importance of reviewing the<br />

updated DCC Priorities, which<br />

must be adhered to for potential<br />

grant acceptance.<br />

Grant requests will be reviewed<br />

for approval by the<br />

Board Members of the DCC.<br />

<strong>The</strong> approved grants support<br />

a variety of artistic and<br />

cultural projects and may include<br />

exhibits, artistic performances<br />

and activities, and lectures<br />

in various local venues,<br />

including but not limited to:<br />

Dudley schools, <strong>The</strong> Pearle L.<br />

Crawford Memorial Library,<br />

<strong>The</strong> Black Tavern, <strong>The</strong> Dudley<br />

Grange and <strong>The</strong> Dudley Senior<br />

Center.<br />

Rehab of Veterans Hall in the<br />

Dudley Town Complex, handson<br />

art participation program<br />

by Gregory Maichek, visit to<br />

the Worcester Art Museum for<br />

4th graders at Dudley Elementary<br />

School, Dudley Hill Walking<br />

Tour brochure, Hip Hop<br />

Chair Exercise at the Dudley<br />

Senior Center.<br />

October 9th & 10th<br />

<strong>The</strong>re will be over 350+ re-enactors representing<br />

several branches of Allied and Axis military participating<br />

in this extraordinary living history event. Fully restored<br />

military equipment of all kinds will be on display and<br />

operating during the battle re-enactments. Allied<br />

and Axis camps will be set up with authentic materials<br />

and appearance. WWII Veterans from all ranks and<br />

branches of service will participate in a round-table<br />
