Better Students<br />

There is a strong connection between academic<br />

performance and a student’s health. The Children's<br />

Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicaid<br />

provide children (through 18) with the care needed<br />

to improve their ability to participate in the<br />

classroom and meet school health requirements.<br />

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?<br />

Children in a household of four earning up<br />

to $56,000 annually may qualify for free<br />

medical coverage. Families of four earning<br />

up to $84,000 annually may be eligible for<br />

low-cost coverage with premiums of $20 or<br />

$30 each month for each child (no copays<br />

or deductibles).<br />

Children with Medicaid and CHIP have<br />

access to immunizations, check-ups, eye<br />

exams, dental visits, mental health care,<br />

and prescriptions.<br />
