NYIA GEORGE in 2020 shared . . .

One of my many life goals is to

achieve happiness. To some, this

nine-lettered word is simplistic and

easy to come by. It hasn't been easy

to come by from my personal

experience, especially now during a

global pandemic. And if we're

brutally honest, I still haven't found

it, but I dream about it every day.

Happiness to me is rare and pure in

its most authentic form. It's more

than a feeling or an expression; it's

a consistent lifestyle, state of mind,

or movement. To achieve this goal, I

must carry the traits of persistence,

motivation, and consistency.

To achieve this life goal, I aspire to

become a successful entrepreneur,

world traveler, artist, and writer.

Art and writing are two different

forms of art that express things

that my voice or mannerisms never

could, or something I want to say

but I do not know-how.

I rely on a pen and paper or a

paintbrush and an aisle to share my

inner thoughts and feelings to

inspire and open others' minds. In

the future, I hope to see my

thoughts spread across magazine

spreads, advertisements, art

galleries, or films. I can't see the

end, and I know tomorrow is

uncertain, but I know my dreams

and goals will challenge me to

reflect, change my actions, be my

very best self, and fulfill God's plan

for me. I should receive this

scholarship because I am a hardworking

individual who is always

willing to lend a helping hand.

Receiving this scholarship would

allow me to afford my college

degree financially, move into my

specific career path, and improve

our society's lives.

“Happiness is

not an ideal of

reason, but of

imagination.”
