"The evening of that day I spent
at the home of Mr. Cyrus L. Sulz-
berger, one of New York's most prom-
inent citizens. Mr. Sulzberger is of
the opinion that Russian Jews of the
agricultural class can be recruited for
Hawaii in large numbers, and was
anxious to secure all the Information
possible about our islands' climatic
conditions, agricultural possibilities,
etc. I left a full line of our publica-
tions with him. Mr. Sulzberger, I
should have stated, Is at the head of
the movement to remove the Jews liv-
ings In squalor In the crowded parts
of YJew York city to other parts of
the country. About 40,000 have been
placed thus far, and the results have
been most satisfactory. It is not from
this class, however, that Mr. Sulzber-
ger would think of securing recruits
for Hawaii.
"My object in obtaining this infor-
mation was simply to secure data In
that our local Board of Immigration
ST. VITUS' DANCE
Proof of the Remarkable Power
of Dr. Williams1 Pink Pills
in This Severe Ner-
vous Disorder.
That, Dr. Williams' rink rills havo
cured obstinate cases of St. Vitus'
dance, is the best evidence thnt they
will cure all lesser nervous disorders.
Here is evidence that will stand thor-
ough investigation. Mrs. James "Wil-ki- e,
of 707 Spruce street, Cherokee,
Iqwa, says:
"I was o a very nervous tempera
ment even when a child. As I grew to
girlhood, more and more of the ork in
our family fell to me. At the samo
time I tried to keep up mv studies in
school. The strain was too great and at
the aire of fourteen I had to leave
school, because of the run-dow- n and
nervous condition I was in. gradually
grew worse, becoming extremely ir
ritable and suffering terriblv from
melancholy. It was first noticed that
I had St. Vitus' dance, when I began
to lobe control of the muscles of my
face. The disease soon spread all over
my body and my head and arms seemed
to tremble constantly.
"I was in this condition for about a
year and dwindled away to almost
nothing. Finally I became so weak
that I had to stay in bed all the time.
Up to this time I had been under the
care of two doctors and as I became
J no better gave up their medicine. After
ha,T been in betl about two mJntUs
my father heard about Dr. Williams'
Pink Pills from, an old friend. He
bought some at once and I started using
them, not expecting much benefit. I
noticed very sqon that the pills were
helping me and that I could sleep bet-
ter. We all thought this so wonderful
that I was encouraged tt give them a
good trial. I was soon able to sleep
like a log and my appetite became
good.
"I was sick altogether about one and
one-ha- lf years and when I began to
use Dr. Williams' Pink Pills I weighed
less than S5 pounds. I gained weight
rapidly, while taking the pills and
weighed 117 pounds when I stopped
using them. I was completely cured
and have never taken medicln for my
nerves since. I feel that 1 owe my
lifo to Dr. Williams' Pink Pills."
They are sold by all druggists, or
will be' sent, postpaid, on receipt of
price, 50 cents per box; six boxes for
$2..j0, by the Dr. "Williams Medicine
Company, Schenectady, X. Y.
ATCHERLEYS
equanimity to be told, too, that Atch
erley was jubilant that the-Boar- d of
Health had liberated a suspect who ,
had called him In as her physician and
whom
.the
the disease and the Board Health
sustains by allowing her to go to
her home," Is the way Dr.
expresses It, something which Pink-ha- m
declares to be erroneous, in a
Rooseveltlan way.
"According to the law passed by the
last Legislature, we cannot hold a sus-
pect until the final examination," he
said. "And you may depend upon it,
Atcherley will never declare anyone to
be a leper as long as he can drag a
dollar out of him by not doing so. Let f
him keep on. His time is coming and
the more he Is shown
