1. This beautiful Tudor Revival building is nestled along the bank of the<br />
winding Des Plaines River, just south of Guthrie <strong>Park</strong> in downtown Riverside.<br />
Relax in the red leather seats near the fireplace in winter. Enjoy a<br />
good book in the Quiet Reading Room overlooking the Des Plaines River.<br />
There is always something going on at the Riverside Public Library. Visit<br />

The museum is the repository and celebration of the multi-cultural<br />
history of Maywood and surrounding communities since the 1800’s. It<br />
showcases the exciting travels of Maywood’s founder, Colonel William T.<br />
Nichols, and the Ten-Mile Freedom House, a shelter on the Underground<br />
