she was
Amelia Lim
the sorrow in her eyes
told a million stories
but the smile
told a million lies
she looked in the mirror
she hated what she saw
a version of herself
that only existed in nightmares
so she tore herself apart
until there was nothing left
but skin
and bones
sometimes she wished
that she could float above the earth
above all the pain
and just watch
as she lay in bed
the voices got louder
and louder
and louder
until her thoughts turned to ghosts
and she was free
she flew far far away
and never came back
