Happy 50th birthday to
Jason Pearce, celebrating in
the Riverside Restaurant with
his brothers today!.
1 Kevin had loved the
Boro since aged 11 when
his Grandad took him to
Ayresome Park over 50 years
ago. Were he here today he
would be able to tell us the
score, who scored, and how
bad the referee was (always
terrible). As soon as he could
he became a season ticket

holder at Ayresome Park and
sat in the same seat at the
Riverside until a severe fall in
the winter of 2018 made him
physically unable to access
the ground. His proudest
moment was attending the
League Cup final in 2004 to
watch the Boro sail to victory.
He squeezed his massive
frame into the car to Cardiff
with several family members
and promptly opened the
windows on the A19 sending
the attached flag flying! Sadly,
Kevin died suddenly at home
in September 2020. Unable
to have a proper wake, the
family went to Redcar seafront
and celebrated Kev’s life with
a lemon top. He is very much
missed and remembered
fondly by his family, who
are attending today’s
match. As it says on Kevin’s
commemorative brick at the
Riverside: “Boro supporter
through thick and thin”.
