If Srinivasa Perumal is on the seven hills, then Govindaraja Perumal is at the feet of<br />
Seshachala mountain. This temple, which is filled with the richness of the great art, has<br />
been receiving daily worship for more than thousand years. Devotees believe that the<br />
Darshan of Swamy who is the idol of Shayanamurthy will remove many sins.<br />
Govindarajaswamy who was in Chidambaram at that time was sent by Ramanujacharya to Tirupati to be<br />
worshipped. But for some unavoidable reasons, Govindarajaswamy could not replace them in the temple.<br />
Instead of the statue, the statue made of clay was established. Even now Govindarajaswamy is receiving the<br />
poojas. Usually in any temple we see, statues with stones and metals but.. there is a yellow statue in<br />
Govindarajaswamy temple.
