Years
Pioneering
sustainability.
We have been pioneers of
solar energy since 1982.
What a success story! Over the last 40 years, solar energy
solutions have evolved from a niche industry to being one of
the main pillars of energy supply. And to the best of its ability,
IBC SOLAR has contributed to this with its vision of giving all
people access to the infinite power of the sun.
Fast and
quiet as
an ‘E-Fox’.
E-mobility
pioneer.
The film about
the ‘E-Fox’.
In 1992, 5 VW Polos
were electrified.
IBC SOLAR founder Udo Möhrstedt was one of the first to consider
private e-mobility in connection with photovoltaics. He and
his team converted 5 VW Polos into electric vehicles. And even
though the ‚electric foxes‘ have already been “pensioned off”
today, they continue to run kilometre by kilometre. By refuelling
with pure solar power, they do this in a way that is completely
emission-free.
1982
1982
Energy generation –
but in a sustainable
way!
Udo Möhrstedt founds IBC SOLAR in 1982. In response to the
questions raised by the oil crisis of the 1970s. His idea was to use
the power of the sun to generate electricity ecologically from
photovoltaics, using technology that was still in its infancy.
1989
The first “solar park”.
1989
Would we talk about a “solar park” with an output of 10 kWp
today? 1989 absolutely! In Austria, we supply 10 kW modules for
the ‘Loser photovoltaic system’ at an altitude of around 1,600
metres. It is the first elevated ground mounting system. In a
test from 2006, the Kyocera modules showed very few signs
of degradation, i.e. after almost two decades of operation.
2004
2004
Eurishofen – energy
transition in the
hands of the citizen.
A special milestone for IBC SOLAR is the opening of the first
solar park for local citizens: the Eurishofen citizen powerplant
in the Allgäu region in Germany. It had a high rated output of
475 kWp for the time and could supply 135 three-person
households with clean electricity for a year.

2009
The photovoltaics
test laboratory.
Tested quality! This is how we guarantee that our systems
always meet the highest standards. Since 2009, in addition to
the real-life checks at our outdoor test facility, our products
have also been evaluated and put through their paces in a
unique and now independent test laboratory – the SUNLAB.

Creator of the
energy transition –
the Jura solar park.
With a total output of 43 MWp, this solar park, which has been
awarded the title of “Gestalter der Energiewende” (Creator of
the Energy Transition), is not only the second largest in Bavaria
(Germany), it sets standards in every respect: Like 136 football
pitches, including its own substation, it produces climatefriendly
electricity for over 10,500 households per year!

Großbardorf
Solar Park
It was created in 2007 with a predominantly
regional shareholding and produces 25.6 million
kWh of electricity per year for 7,000 households.
It will continue to be operated after the end of
the Renewable Energy Act subsidy and will contribute
to the energy self-sufficient municipality
of Großbardorf (Germany).
“70 percent more than calculated! This is
the result of our plant! I am proud to have
been involved in this project since 2005.
The payout forecast up to 2021 was 1.9 million
euros, and today we have reached 3.23
million euros. A real success!“
Bad Staffelstein
The first rooftop system in Bad Staffelstein
has been running reliably for 30 years now.
The 1.2 kWp system continuously supplies
power and the 24 narrow Siemens modules
only have low power losses.
“This year our PV plant celebrated its 30th
year in operation. During this time, it generated
28,000 kWh of solar power and continues to
run perfectly. That’s why we continue to use it
after the feed-in tariff has expired – however
now, for our own consumption.“
Gut Leimershof
Solar Park
The Gut Leimershof solar park has an output
of 13.8 MWp and saves approx. 7,500 tonnes
of climate-damaging CO 2
. With its electricity
production, it supplies around 4,450 households
with energy each year.
“When I decided 12 years ago to build an
ground mounted powerplant, I was looking
for a suitable partner. I chose IBC SOLAR as
a reliable and local company. I also wanted a
beautiful complex that would blend in nicely
with the landscape.“
