2.5 TFSI® engine<br />
This five-cylinder engine combines a turbocharger with FSI®<br />
direct petrol injection, confirming the status of the <strong>Audi</strong> <strong>TT</strong> <strong>RS</strong><br />
as a high-performance sports car. <strong>The</strong> 2.5-litre TFSI® engine is<br />
ultra-compact. Just 49 centimetres in length <strong>and</strong> weighing 183<br />
kilograms, it’s perfectly suited for transverse installation in the<br />
<strong>Audi</strong> <strong>TT</strong> <strong>RS</strong>. <strong>The</strong> crankcase is made of vermicular-graphite cast<br />
iron – a high-tech material that is both strong <strong>and</strong> lightweight.<br />
Perfectly placed reinforcements enhance the block’s loading,<br />
while the cylinder head, pistons, <strong>and</strong> connecting rods are also<br />
low on weight, but high on tensile strength.<br />
