Inland MX
Championship
Inland MX.
Round 2. East London
30th April 2022.
Round 2 of the Inland championship kicked off at the recently upgraded
Wethered Compound in East London. Its an awesome track with
some spectacular ocean views, which had most of the Gauteng riders
gawping in awe. Riders flocked in from all over SA to join the fun.
It was many of the competitors first outing on the long, sandy track –
and they made good use of the early practice just after riders briefing.
Eddie from Dirt Bronco was tasked with loading the gates – and the
first flag dropped at 10h30.
The local riders had a definite advantage, but the racing was super
fierce and they did not simply walk the day.
By heat 2 – which kicked off at 1, the out of town riders had the track
sussed and this let to lots of very exciting racing.
It was awesome to see the spectators out in their droves cheering for
their riders – the atmosphere was really very cool.
Prize giving was at 4h30 a roaring success, with congratulations all
round. Then it was party time with riders, organisers and sponsors
already planning next years race at this track.
Big thanks to Shane Rutherford and the crew from Wethered from
everyone at the Inland MX championship.
The next round is North Vs South. Bloemfontein. August the 6th.
See you there.
