Craft in America is a Los Angeles-based nonprofitarts organization founded in 2004 with the mission topromote and advance original handcrafted work throughprograms in all media. The Peabody Award-winning,Emmy-nominated Craft in America documentaryseries first aired nationally on PBS in 2007 and hasproduced twenty-seven hour-long episodes to date.These programs are filled with artists, techniques, andstories from diverse cultures, blending history with livingpractice.In addition to the series, Craft in America’s organizationalefforts include extensive websites (pbs.org/craftinamerica and craftinamerica.org), a YouTubechannel www.youtube.com/user/craftinamerica), multidisciplinaryeducator guides that adhere to nationalstandards, and the Craft in America Center in LosAngeles.
